Frequently Asked Questions

Making a booking

You can easily browse our extensive directory of Entertainers by category (e.g., musicians, DJs, comedians, magicians), event type (e.g., wedding, corporate event, birthday party), location, and price range. Use our search filters to narrow down your options and view Entertainer profiles with photos, videos, descriptions, and reviews.

Find an entertainer you like and press Request a quote. Choose your event (or create one), add a message and send it. The entertainer replies with a quote. When you’re happy with it, accept the quote and pay by card to confirm the booking.

Yes, browsing our directory of talented Entertainers is completely free for event organizers and individuals looking to hire entertainment.

Absolutely! We encourage you to contact multiple Entertainers to compare their services, availability, and quotes before making a final decision.

To get the most accurate quote and ensure availability, please provide details such as the date, time, and location of your event, the type of event, the estimated number of guests, and any specific requirements you may have.

It’s generally recommended to book your Entertainer as early as possible, especially for popular dates and in-demand performers. Booking 2-6 months in advance is advisable, but last-minute options may also be available.

The entertainer gets your enquiry straight away. They’ll reply with a quote, ask you a question, or let you know they’re not available, and we’ll email you when they do. Once they’ve replied, you can message each other in Messages.

The cost of hiring an Entertainer varies greatly depending on factors such as the type of entertainment, the duration of the performance, the Entertainer’s experience and popularity, and the location of your event. You’ll receive specific quotes directly from the Entertainers you contact.

You pay by card through Entertainers when you accept a quote, and that confirms the booking. We pay the entertainer after the event. Please keep every payment on Entertainers, including extras like travel or sound. That way you’re both covered by our terms, and if anything goes wrong, we can help. Payments made directly or in cash aren’t covered.

Browsing and asking for quotes is free. A service fee applies when you book. Please refer to the terms and conditions for the details.

For Entertainers

To create a professional profile and showcase your talents, simply click on the “Join” button on our homepage and follow the registration process. You’ll be able to add your details, photos, videos, and pricing information.

It’s free to join and list your act. Please refer to the terms and conditions for the details.

We welcome a wide variety of Entertainers, including musicians, DJs, bands, singers, comedians, magicians, dancers, children’s Entertainers, event hosts, and many more! If you have a talent to share, we encourage you to join our community.

A comprehensive profile is key to attracting bookings. We recommend including high-quality photos and videos, a detailed description of your services and experience, your typical setlist or performance style and your pricing guidelines.

You can easily manage and update your profile information, including photos, videos, descriptions, and availability, by logging into your account dashboard. Keeping your profile current is essential for attracting enquiries.

New enquiries show on your dashboard under Enquiries, and we email you straight away. Reply there with a quote, a question, or Not available. Bookers often ask a few acts at once, so the sooner you reply, the better your chance.

Go to Calendar to see all your bookings in one place. Press Block dates to mark the days you can’t work.

General

Entertainers is a leading online platform connecting event organisers with a diverse range of talented Entertainers across Australia. We make it easy for event organisers to find and book the perfect entertainment for any occasion.

You can find Entertainers for all types of events, including weddings, corporate events, birthday parties, festivals, private parties, school events, and more.

Superannuation

It depends on who you are. A business or organisation booking a performer directly may owe 12% super on the labour part of the fee, even on an ABN invoice. A private individual booking for their own wedding or party generally owes nothing. When you book through Entertainers, we pay any super that applies straight to the entertainer’s super fund, out of the booking price. There’s nothing extra for you to pay.

Yes, often. Australian super law treats performers as employees for super purposes even when they work as contractors with an ABN, so the ABN does not switch off the entitlement. Whether super is actually paid depends on who engages the performer and how.

Almost certainly not. Superannuation obligations for performers fall on businesses and organisations, not on private individuals hiring entertainment for their own personal event. A couple paying for a band at their own wedding generally does not owe super. Read our full superannuation guides here.
